Parlophone y Rhino Records reeditarán el 6 de octubre en CD, vinilo, formato digital y caja de lujo el disco de WHITESNAKE «1987».

La tirada de lujo incluye un CD de grabaciones en directo con Adrian Vandenberg, Vivian Campbell y Tommy Aldridge registradas durante la gira del grupo en 1987 y 88. Un tercer disco trae maquetas y grabaciones de ensayos de la época del álbum, y un cuarto contiene remezclas de los cuatro singles, mezclas raras para la radio, versiones de temas realizadas en el 87 y un EP editado exclusivamente en Japón.

El DVD incluye los vídeos de los cuatro singles todos restaurados y remezclados en 5.1 surround, un documental de 30 minutos sobre la realización del disco, un nuevo vídeo promocional creado especialmente para esta reedición de la versión 1988 de «Here I Go Again», e imágenes inéditas de la gira 87-88.

David Coverdale ha comentado sobre el lanzamiento:

«Me alegra mucho tener finalmente tanto catálogo de WHITESNAKE bajo el mismo techo con la familia Warner, y estoy emocionado de trabajar con este equipo para todo el mundo. Tengo grandes recuerdos de mi paso por Warner cuando estuve en DEEP PURPLE, y luego estuve en Geffen cuando les distribuía Warner, así que ahora es como volver a casa al tener allí a WHITESNAKE. Esta reedición tan elaborada es el proyecto perfecto para despegar la relación.»

«No me arrepiento de nada. Levántate cada mañana y deja que tu conciencia te guíe.  

¿Sabías que poseo el logo con la bolsa de dinero? El símbolo del dólar y el saco de dinero. Poseo un montón de cosas, poseo ‘motion pictures’ como marca registrada. Quien piense que es tonto; lo más tonto que he hecho ha sido llevar más maquillaje y plataformas más altas que tu madre.

La gente dice, ‘No puedes hacer eso.’ En realidad cabrón, puedo. Puedo hacer lo que quiera.»

La banda ha realizado la pre producción con John Phipps en sus estudios Inferno de Portugal, y el material ha sido producido por Tue Madsen (MESHUGGAH, THE-HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILLITY, DIR EN GREY, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER) en sus estudios Antfarm de Dinamarca. Madsen ya trabajó con la banda en sus discos «Under Satanae», «Night Eternal» y «Alpha Noir/Omega White». 

El trabajo trata del terremoto sufrido en Lisboa, Portugal en 1755 y de como cambió la religión, la política y la filosofía de toda Europa, y estará íntegramente cantado en portugués.
